1) Springfield
Springfield is a charming small town known as the “Birthplace of Route 66”. Boonville is a charming town located right on the Missouri River, named after the famed pioneer, Daniel Boone. 5) Bonne Terre Mine
Bonne Terre Mine is a national historic site featuring the world’s largest freshwater dive resort. Developed in 1860 as the first part of the St. Joe Minerals’ lead mine network, Bonne Terre Mine features a billion-gallon, crystal clear lake. This natural wonder was named one of America’s Top 10 Greatest Adventure Experiences by National Geographic.
Visitors can traverse the expansive lake on an underground boat and walking tour. Certified scuba divers can go diving in Bonne Terre Mine and explore this underwater world.
